Sopot Days of Vocal Art

Bożena Harasimowicz

Dear visitors!

Music and singing are my passions. Since childhood I loved performing in front of an audience. At the age of 18, I took up a degree at the vocal and acting faculty of the Music Academy in Gdansk. I graduated with distinction.
I have to my credit a 30 year long, wonderful career marked with numerous successes and artistic experiences. With time, I discovered my managerial abilities. As a native Sopot resident I am enormously glad that I can share with you my passion and love for opera singing in my hometown. I believe that the festival, which I launched and which represents the “older sister” of the Summer Singing Academy, will bring you great artistic impressions.

I am glad that thanks to the support of the authorities of the city of Sopot, and also thanks to the founder of the main prizes and our partners, the Sopot Festival of Vocal Art (preceded by the Summer Academy of Singing) will help to discover new singing talent.

The essence of the festival is not only the presentation and dissemination of valuable works of Polish and world vocal literature, promotion of internationally recognized artists, singers from home and abroad, but above all the promotion of young Polish singers, who are just beginning their encounter with singing.

The program of this year’s edition of the festival will consist of vocal master classes taught by an outstanding group of teachers and nationwide auditions of young singers, who will present themselves in front of international jury in the songs, oratorio and opera repertoire. The jury will choose the person with the most beautiful voice in their opinion, with flawless vocal technique. During the final concert of this year’s Festival we will hear the winners and the outstanding Polish singer Martyna Cymerman with her unique soprano voice.

My wish to all the participants of 9th edition of the Impressio Art National Vocal Competition is that they develop not only their vocal talent, but also convey the truth, sincerity and emotions through their beautiful singing. Being a singer is an extremely difficult task. I know from experience that only true love and passion for singing lead to the world of art and to a beautiful career, which I personally and sincerely wish will open for you.
